The SKS design team scoped out several design shows this spring to find the latest, greatest in 2016 bathroom design trends.
The trend for 2016 is toward clean, contemporary spa-like design. Rustic, country and Tuscan styles are fading away this year.
For those going super contemporary, all the way to industrial chic (gritty or smooth concrete and stainless steel fixtures, shelves and racks), you will find an abundance of beautiful choices on the market this year. Our design team suggests contrasting this cool industrial look with softer textures (like polystone, wood and extra plush mats and towels).

Whites are the preferred colored backdrop with gray/anthracite quickly gaining momentum. Gray is the new beige in bath and kitchen.
A few trends directly from the NKBA (National Kitchen and Bath Assoc.)
- White is the most popular fixture color and whites and grays are the most popular overall color schemes.
- There is a grown use of open shelving and floating vanities.
- Freestanding tubs, especially in the master bathroom, are extremely popular.
- Polished chrome is the most popular faucet finish.
